On Monday I showed you the products I took with me on a weekend away. Today I thought I would show you an understated makeup look using those products.
This look is especially good for times that you want to look well-presented, without looking like you’ve been shot in the face with a makeup gun.
Although it is a subtle look, this is not by any means a no-makeup look. I feel like it communicates the message that “I care for my appearance, but I’m comfortable in my skin.”
I began by using my fingers to apply Estee Lauder Illuminating Perfecting Primer all over my face. On top of this, I once again used my fingers to apply Max Factor Miracle Touch foundation in a patting motion, starting in the centre of my face, where I need more coverage, and letting the foundation fade out around the edge of my face.
I used my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Illuminator under my eyes, and blended it out with my Rae Morris #4 Square Kabuki Brush. I then patted a tiny amount of Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer in #51 around the tops of my naso-labial folds, and blended this with the same brush.
I squeezed a pea-sized amount of my Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator onto the tips of my fingers, rubbed them together then pressed it onto the backs of my cheekbones/orbital bone and down the bridge of my nose (stopping about 1cm before the tip of my nose). I brushed what was left on my fingers across my cupids bow. I then used my Rae Morris #2 Mini Kabuki to apply a sheer layer of Topshop cream blush in Flush across the tops of my cheeks.
For my eyes, I used my fingers to apply Urban Decay Primer Potion from lashline to browbone. I took myMAC 239 Flat Shader brush and patted Sin from the Naked Palette (a pink, shimmery champagne) from my lashline to my crease. I used my Rae Morris #7 Deluxe Precision Shader to softly wash Naked from the Naked Palette (a pale taupe) from my crease upwards, blending out into nothing before I reached my brow. I then used my Rae Morris #8 Medium Precision Shader to create the illusion of a higher crease using Buck from the Naked Palette (a medium warm brown). I used a Napoleon Perdis Push Liner brushto press a little bit of Hustle from the Naked Palette (metallic brown/purple) along my lashline, and I finished my eyes by applying a generous coat of Bobbi Brown Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara.
I combed my brows into place with a clean spoolie brush, then I used my Stiff Angled Brow brush by Crown to fill in my otherwise invisible eyebrows with Urban Decay Secret Service, and set them with a coat of Australis Extender Lash & Brow.
I finished with a quick coat of Ere Perez Lip Bar in Hope to make my lips look pink and juicy, and the look was complete.
