Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop – Review, Photos, Swatches

Revlon Lip Butters launched roughly a year ago, and have quickly become a much-loved, even iconic product. They are pitched as a kipstick/lipbalm hybrid – that is, a highly pigmented lip product that is nourishing to your lips and comfortable to wear. Today I’ll be looking at the Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop.

Revlon Lip Butter packaging is very consistent with Revlon’s branding, coming presented in cute “quilted” tubes, tinted a colour similar to the shade encased within, and with a handy clear top to more accurately see the shade of the product.

In the tube, Lollipop is a moderately deep fuschia colour, with a subtle violet shimmer.

On my lips Lollipop translates into more of a bright, barbie doll pink, with definite cool undertones.

I found this particular shade of Lip Butter to be a little less comfortable to wear, and I put that down to the shimmer that runs through it. It has been my experience that the Lip Butters with a shimmer are slightlydrying, while the cream finishes are not drying at all.

The wear time is not fantastic, it starts to fade after around 3 hours, and I definitely need to reapply after lunch or a cup of coffee.

Summary : My verdict: As far as lipsticks go, Revlon Lip Butters aren't my all-time favourite. Having said that, they are a workday staple for me as I find them comfortable to wear and easy to reapply - I'm very happy to swipe and go. Lollipop, although very pretty, is not my favourite shade in the Revlon Lip Butter range. I adore the way it looks, the colour is right up my alley, but the slightly drying formula means that I usually reach for one of the cream finish shades.
