Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop – Review, Photos, Swatches

Product Breakdown:

Revlon Lip Butters launched roughly a year ago, and have quickly become a much-loved, even iconic product. They are pitched as a kipstick/lipbalm hybrid – that is, a highly pigmented lip product that is nourishing to your lips and comfortable to wear. Today I’ll be looking at the Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop.

Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop 1_1

Revlon Lip Butter packaging is very consistent with Revlon’s branding, coming presented in cute “quilted” tubes, tinted a colour similar to the shade encased within, and with a handy clear top to more accurately see the shade of the product.

In the tube, Lollipop is a moderately deep fuschia colour, with a subtle violet shimmer.

On my lips Lollipop translates into more of a bright, barbie doll pink, with definite cool undertones.

I found this particular shade of Lip Butter to be a little less comfortable to wear, and I put that down to the shimmer that runs through it. It has been my experience that the Lip Butters with a shimmer are slightlydrying, while the cream finishes are not drying at all.

The wear time is not fantastic, it starts to fade after around 3 hours, and I definitely need to reapply after lunch or a cup of coffee.

Summary : My verdict: As far as lipsticks go, Revlon Lip Butters aren't my all-time favourite. Having said that, they are a workday staple for me as I find them comfortable to wear and easy to reapply - I'm very happy to swipe and go. Lollipop, although very pretty, is not my favourite shade in the Revlon Lip Butter range. I adore the way it looks, the colour is right up my alley, but the slightly drying formula means that I usually reach for one of the cream finish shades.
