It’s hard to believe, but in less than a month, my little boy will be having his first birthday. He’s funny and sweet and smart, and he’s also going through a very clingy phase (much like his sister did at the same age). It means that I can virtually never put him down. He constantly wants to be held, he won’t sleep unless he’s in my arms, and he wakes up if I try to put him down. All this means it has been virtually impossible for me to even consider wearing makeup, let alone taking photos, then sitting and writing about it.
Today I’d had enough. I had some beautiful makeup that I received for Christmas that I still hadn’t had the chance to even use once (!!!) and it was metaphorically burning a hole in my pocket. It took me about 2 hours, in between juggling a baby and trying to distract him, but I finally got some makeup on my face! Here’s the look I ended up with:
The new products I got to have a play with were the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette (which I used to contour, highlight and also as eyeshadow) and the Tarte Pin-up Girl Blush Palette (which I used on my cheeks and also as eyeshadow). I also used some of the products from the Sephora “Give Me More Lip” sample set – namely the Makeup Forever lip pencil in 3C and the Too Faced Lipstick in Naked Dolly. These were all Christmas gifts from my husband.
And for those of you interested, here’s the little munchkin that’s been keeping me away from Makeup Utopia.
How is your 2015 shaping up so far?
