OPI Over and Over A-Gwen

I have a confession to make. I’m a bit of a Gwen Stefani fangirl, have been since I was 14. In fact I’m pretty sure Tragic Kingdom was the first album I ever purchased with my first paycheck from my first ever job. I adore her style, and think of her as one of the great masters of reinvention.

Given my 18 year girl-crush, you can imagine my excitement when I heard that she was releasing a nail polish collection in collaboration with O.P.I. It’s a collection of 8 shades, with the Signature shade from the collection being Over and Over A-Gwen, a classic neutral red creme that is available on it’s own, or in a special boxed edition with Swarovski Elements studs and crystals.

When you open the box, you’re presented with a stunning picture of the woman herself, facing the signature polish.

The polish itself is a beautiful neutral red creme that is not too warm and not too cool. I’ve worn this a few times now and it applies beautifully in 2 coats, but if you were in a hurry, you could just about get away with using this as a one coater.

There’s also a sheet of pretty blingy things, and glue to apply them. Honestly though, save yourself the hassle and just press the Swarovski Elements into your top coat – much simpler to do, and far easier to remove!

Is this polish terribly unique? No. Is it an absolute stunning classic? Yes. Sadly, due to a series of cleaning sprees, my hands are is absolutely shocking condition, so any swatches I could show you would not do this polish justice – but you can see some stunning swatches over at So Nailicious.
