My Fashion Week Face

It’s official! This week is Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, and for me, that means 5 long days of running around. My prep time in the mornings will be very limited, and space in my handbag will be at a premium. Here are the tried and tested products I’ll be using to keep myself looking Fashion Week Fabulous.

Estee Lauder Illuminating Perfecting Primer

Estee Lauder Illuminating Perfecting Primer
This primer has been on-counter for just over a week now, but I’ve been trialling it for a month or two, and let me tell you, I like it. It seems to brighten my skin while effectively extending the wear time of my foundation.

MAC Face & Body Foundation

MAC Face and Body
I have 2 “HG” foundations, and this is one of them. It provides a lovely sheer coverage that is very buildable. It wears incredibly well, and perfectly mimics tthe appearance of skin. My only complaint is that this shade, N1, is a little dark for me, and I haven’t had the chance to pick it up in white to custom blend my shade.

MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Light

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light
I really love this powder. It’s nice and light in texture, it’s quite sheer on the skin and it isn’t completely matte, so it doesn’t “deaden” my appearance. I’ll be using this through the day, paired with oil-blotting sheets, to keep my skin looking luminous but not oily,

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Urban Decay Primer Potion
My HG eye primer. I’ve tried many eye primers and for me, none come close to UDPP. It makes any shadow last all day and night with no creasing, it intensifies the colours of the shadows I use, and blending shadows on top of it is a dream.

Tom Ford Cream Colour For Eyes in Spice

Tom Ford Cream Colour for Eyes in Spice
I am so in love with this cream eyeshadow. You can read my full review HERE. It’s super quick and easy to apply, and it gives my eyes a subtly polished appearance with absolutely minimal effort.

Maybelline One by One Volum’ Express Satin Black mascara (limited edition for May 2012)

Maybelline Volum Express One by One Satin Black
It just wouldn’t feel right to use any other mascara during Fashion Week. Maybelline One by One Volum’ Express Satin Black mascara is a limited release mascara created especially for MBFWA and only available in May. It’s lovely to use and gives me nice, full, separated lashes. Plus, the packaging is adorable – I just love the cute corset on the lid.

Urban Decay Pressed Eyeshadow in Secret Service

Urban Decay Secret Service Pressed Eyeshadow
Secret Service by Urban Decay is my brow colour of choice, and I might be wearing this every day in my brows. HOWEVER, I am writing this last Wednesday. By the time you read this, I will have been to the hairdresser, and if that visit went according to plan, I may be wearing one of the below shadows as my brow powder.

Sugarpill Poison Plum Pressed Eyeshadow
Sugarpill Poison Plum

Ben Nye Lumiere Eyeshadow in Amethyst
Ben Nye Amethyst

Illamasqua Powder Shadow in Inception
Illamasqua Inception

Australis Brow Gel

Australis Extender Lash and Brow
I haven’t used this yet, but my old brow gel was pretty old and this was rattling around in my backups drawer.

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Ambition

Illamasqua Ambition Powder Blusher
A lovely, understated, neutral blush with enough shimmer to act as a highlighter as well.

Statement Lipstick.

I’ve shortlisted Illamasqua Apocalips (matte teal)
Illamasqua Apocalips Lipstick

MAC Ruby Woo (matte red)

Topshop Brighton Rock (creamy coral pink)

OCC Lip Tar in Anime (neon pink)

Inglot Lipstick 197 (Bright Frost Fuschia).
