Today on M|U loves, I’ve interviewed the lovely (and gorgeous!) Kristie from Blushing Basics. She’s a makeup artist and a mama, with a passion for making beauty more accessible – she and I have a few things in common! I’m sure you’ll love her as much as I do!
Tell me a bit about your blog?
I am a mother of three and my goal is to break down beauty into something everyone can learn, no matter the amount of time you have or your skill level. There is a unique beauty in everyone and I want to help you enjoy it.
What is your favourite budget makeup brand? What is your favourite product from that brand?
My favorite budget brand is NYX and my favorite product is The Wonder Pencil. It is so versatile! You can use it to conceal, to contour, to make eyes look brighter and more awake. This $3.50 investment gives you a lot of bang for your buck!
What is your favourite luxe makeup brand? What is your favourite product from that brand?
My favorite luxe makeup brand is Chanel and my favorite product is their nail polish. Their makeup is great and their products superb, but they always hit it out of the park with their nail polish. Well formulated, they choose the best ‘it’ colors if the season. It is a no fail.
What’s your makeup crack? Are you a lipstick lover, a blush junkie, a mascara maven, or is it another product that floats your boat?
My makeup crack is definitely lipgloss. I can never have too many. I regularly carry 3-4 in my purse and you can find a gloss in every drawer and nook & cranny of my home.
So, be honest, how many lipglosses do you own?
Currently I own at least 30, but it varies by season.
Tell me your best makeup secret, tip or trick.
Kabuki brush + foundation is a sure fire way to get flawless skin. If the airbrushed effect is what you want, this will get you there quickly and virtually fool proof.
Everyone has a dirty beauty confession – what’s yours?
I use my products after they are expired. I think as long as the product doesn’t lose it’s integrity, it is good.[divider]
