Picking the right makeup, or ensuring you blend correctly can be daunting, that’s why I love products designed to minimise this stress. Here’s my top 5 cheats to great blending- in no particular order)
I love the glow a bronzer can give, but I am petrified of looking like an Oopa Loompa, so my go to, fool proof bronzer is from e.l.f (available from Crush Cosmetics)
This bronzer is available in several shades for light to dark skin. I find that having 4 different colours in one compact makes it easy to achieve a healthy glow, and easy to avoid looking orange!
From bronzing to blush, my next favourite cheat is the Nutrimetics ‘Illusion’, a blush/bronzing compact. This is a little deeper in colour. On my pasty Scottish skin, I use it as a blush but if you have darker tones, there is no reason this couldn’t be your go to for both blush and bronzing.
You can get nutrimetics products from your local consultant or online, here.
I love to wear toned down makeup but play up my cheek bones and lashes, Often I can’t decide what colour I want to rock and I find the following cheats really helpful.
I’ve mentioned them before, and I’ll probably mention them again – Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Blush”. These come in 4 different colour combinations ranging from pink and girly to bronze and beautiful. Not surprisingly I don’t wear the deepest colour in the collection. I do have the other 3 and they are my favourite every day blush.
You will find stockists for Australis here.
Another great multi-toned blush is the ‘Rimmel London 3 in 1 Blush’. The reason this is not my go-to choice for daytime blush is the sparkle. Also, being rectangular as opposed to round it’s harder to swirl up those lovely colours. It’s still one of my favourite cheats.
Rimmel products are available in most chemists as well as K-mart, Big W, Target and some supermarkets.
Finally the last of my blending cheats is the Marbleyes eye-shadow range by Nutrimetics.
These adorable little eye shadows look like planets and they are named as such. They have a good mix of colours in them as well as a little sparkle. I love to blend eye-shadows but I can’t go past these for ease and speed of application.
There we have it, my top 5 cheats to great blending.Although I love getting creative with my makeup, when I start work at 7:30 in the morning, I want something quick, simple and easy to apply – anything that will let me hit the snooze button one last time!
