Lime Crime Palette D’Antoinette Fantasy Palette – Review, Photos, Swatches

Product Breakdown:

Palette D'Antoinette 5_1

The Lime Crime Palette D’Antoinette is the third release inthe Lime Crime Fantasy Palette Series. It contains a collection of 5 shadows – 4 matte and one metallic – inspired by the infamous Marie Antoinette.

Pigmentation:

Royal Flush

1 Royal Flush

Royal Flush is a pretty, bright, somewhat fluorescent pink with a matte finish. Strangely, I find it hard to decide if this is a pastel or not, as it seems to sit right on the line between pastel and neon. The texture is silky smooth and the pigmentation is medium to high (an impressive feat for a matte shadow).

2 Absinthe Minded

Royal Flush is a pretty, bright, pastel green with a matte finish. The texture is silky smooth and the pigmentation is medium to high (an impressive feat for a matte shadow).

Macarooned

3 Macarooned

Macarooned is a pretty, bright, pastel orange with a matte finish. It also seems to sit right on the line between pastel and neon. The texture is silky smooth and the pigmentation is medium to high (an impressive feat for a matte shadow).

Ribbonesque

4 Ribbonesque

Ribbonesque is a stunning pastel purple with a matte finish. The texture is silky smooth and the pigmentation is medium to high (an impressive feat for a matte shadow).

5 Mercurious

Mercurious is a grey-based silver with a high metallic shine. The texture is incredibly creamy and smooth and the pigmentation level is medium.

Ease of application:

The shadows in the Palette D’Antoinette are beautifully easy to work with. They pack on nicely, and blend out beautifully, without getting muddy or disappearing.

Longevity:

When paired with a good quality primer, I find these shadows last extremely well on my eyelids, staying put without fading for at least 8 hours.

Packaging:

Palette D'Antoinette 1

One of the things Lime Crime is most well known for is their distinctive packaging. It tends to be very polarising and people either love it or hate it. Personally a love a good bit of kitsch in my life, so the pretty purple tin with the unicorn logo totally plays into my aesthetics.

Palette D'Antoinette 2

Functionally this feels like a nice sturdy palette that could withstand a bit of battering while still protecting the shadows inside.
