Lancome Rouge in Love in 377N Midnight Rose – Review, Swatches, Photos
Rouge In Love is an ultra-lightweight, highly pigmented lipstick from Lancome. The key concept behind this collection is that different lipstick shades are more appropriate for different times of the day and night, which is why there are three “mini-collections” within this range.
The first range is Jolis Matins, a selection of fresh shades of daytime wear, signified by the letter M in the shade number. The second is Boudoir Time, a selection of pop shades for cocktail hour, signified by the letter B in the shade number. Last but most definitely not least is Tonight is my Night, a range of intense shades for magical nights, identified by the letter N in the shade number.
Today I’m reviewing one of the Tonight is my Night shades, #377N Midnight Rose
In my experience, all the Lancome Rouge in Love lipsticks are nicely pigmented, and #377N Midnight Rose is no exception. It provides an almost opaque, incredibly bright colour, with a beautiful, relatively long-wearing finish, and a light-weight formula.
This shade is a beautiful deepest rose pink. This particular shade embraces the bold-lip trend in a sophisticated manner, creating a look that is both on-trend, elegant and youthful.

Ease of application:
This very bright shade of lipstick doesn’t really lend itself to on-the-go mirrorless application, however in terms of bright lipstick, this is very easy to apply. The formula has a lovely slip, and it glides effortlessly onto my lips. The edge of the bullet is quite sharp, which I find helpful in achieving crisp lines straight from the tube. I would prefer a slightly more pointed shape to the bullet, but I can very comfortably work with the more rounded top.
Lancome claims Rouge in Love to be a 6 hour formula, and as long as I’m not eating greasy food, I find this to be relatively accurate. When I do need to re-apply, I appreciate the lightweight formula, because it doesn’t seem to cake up on reapplication.
I love the Rouge in Love packaging, it has a bit of an old-school boudoir feel.
See the pretty lipstick all reclined in the bushes? Cant you just imagine her saying “paint me like one of your french girls…”
Anything else worth mentioning?:
The Lancome Rouge in Love lipsticks are all quite strongly scented of violets. It’s not my favourite smell, but it doesn’t stick around on my lips, so I’m totally prepared to live with it.
