After pondering for weeks, I’ve finally come up with a “Hit List” theme that I can get inspired by! You see, I’m currently getting ready to move house, and through the process of packing, I realised there were makeup products I couldn’t bring myself to pack! These are the products I can’t live without for even a few days:
Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation
I love this foundation, I find the coverage can be very sheer or almost opaque, depending on the look I want to create, but at the same time, I never feel like I’m wearing foundation.
The first time I tried Skin Base was during a makeover in store. I looked in the mirror and thought ‘holy hell, it looks like they put this on with a trowel’ but it didn’t feel like it at all and settled in to my skin to give the most amazing finish.
Illamasqua Skin Base is the only foundation I know of that has its own appreciation group on Facebook – with 26 shades and a cult following, I’m not surprised.
Garnier Roll On- Anti Dark Circles
My first Garnier Roll-On was part of a goodie bag from the Garnier tent at the Melbourne International Flower Show, shortly before my son was born. I learnt quickly after he came into the world, that with motherhood comes dark circles, this was my secret to looking semi awake. I have since repurchased it several times and use it every day.
Illamasqua Powder Foundation
This is one of the finest milled powders I’ve ever used, as a result, it gives a finish that is smooth and not in the least powdery or cakey.
Illamasqua Cream Blush in Sob
I love the finish that cream blush gives my skin. I get quite dry cheeks, so I often opt for a cream blush. I love ‘Sob’, it is such a beautiful girly pink and offers a perfect flush of colour.
No7 Exceptional Definition Nutrient Rich Mascara
I first bought this mascara in the UK. I had to replace my entire makeup collection because I’d left it at my brother’s house. This particular mascara was a GWP when I purchased an eyeshadow which made it a perfect option to restart my makeup kit.
I have since fallen utterly and completely in love with this mascara. It has a triple bristle brush, short bristles on one side, long bristles on the other, and at the end a round burst of bristles to use for the tiny lashes on the edge of the eye.
I managed to find this in ‘Boots’ in Thailand when I was there in May. The mascara is made in Germany and distributed from the UK sealed, so I had no concerns about product safety or quality. I was fortunate that a friend of mine was recently visiting home in Bangkok and I convinced him to get me a few for my stash. What a good friend! – Kudos to any man who is willing to go makeup shopping, and double kudos for going on his own!
There we have it, a run down of the products that I never bother to put away.
What about you, have you tried any of my favorites? Do you have a hit list of your own, you want to share? What makeup items could you not live without?
