The Hit List – My Top 5 Drugstore Products

The Hit List Drugstore Pinterest

Welcome back to “The Hit List”, a weekly series focussing on top products within a range of categories. This week I’ll be sharing 5 drugstore products from brands that are easily available in Australia.

Face of Australia Face Base Primer

FaceOfAustraliaPrimer

Face of Australia Face Base Primer is an absolute staple in my kit. It’s a simple primer with no bells and whistles, but if you’re looking for an affordable product that is going to keep your foundation on your face for longer, there is no better product on the market (at any price point). I reviewed this a loooong time ago, on my old blog.

Maybelline Color Tattoos

Maybelline Color Tattoo’s are a cream eyeshadow that (on my lids, at least) don’t crease and don’t budge until I wash them off with an oil based makeup remover. They are great alone for a quick and easy wash of colour over my lids, and they are amazing as an eyeshadow primer. Lizzi reviewed them in her Frugal Friday series here.

L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows

LorealInfallibleEyeshadow2

L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows are little pots of colour with the texture of a slightly damp, tamped down pigment. They offer vibrant colours in a very long-wearing and crease-proof formula (even without primer). I reviewed and swatched 6 of the 8 shades I own here.

Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation

Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation is a cream foundation with a very light, incredibly natural finish. I recommend buffing it into your skin for the best results. I reviewed this foundation in full here.

Bourjois 3D Effet Lip Gloss

Bourjois Lipglosses have been a long-standing favourite of mine – a fact that is demonstrated by the very old tube that I can’t bring myself to part with in the picture above. I love the texture of these glosses, and they smell delightful. The colour range has a complexity usually found only in high-end lip products, and the brush applicator is the best I have every used. I haven’t reviewed these before, but I’m sure you’ll see a full review in the coming weeks.

What are your favourite drugstore products? I have to admit that until recently I have been a drugstore snob, preferring to use department store or professional brands. I’d love to know about any other gems that you love – let me know in the comments below.
