Hello, Darling Art Class Nail Art Transfers – Review, Photos, Swatches
The art decals come on a big sheet printed with different images in different sizes. There are plenty of options on the sheet and a generous number of each image, so if you make a mistake, it’s as simple as cutting out an extra decal.
Ease of application:
The old adage ‘practice makes perfect’ definitely applies to these nail art decals, the process of applying is a little bit tricky but definitely worth the perseverance. You’ll need nail polish and top coat, scissors, tweezers, a small bowl of water, and of course the nail art decals.
Start by cutting out the decals that you want to use, I find that it helps to lay them out as I plan to apply them to my nails.
Paint your nails with your chosen polish and let them dry completely; I used three coats of Hello Darling polish in Papershaker. When you are ready to apply your decal, place it into the bowl of water for just a couple of seconds. If it sinks to the bottom it’s been in there for too long. You will have to do each decal one at a time.
Using tweezers remove the decal from the water and then with your finger gently slide the backing paper off. Take hold of the decal with the tweezers and place it on the nail.
Alternatively you can place the decal straight onto the nail and slide the backing paper away, however note that this will flip the image so use the first method for words.
Once you have applied your decals finish off with a layer of top coat.
The decals last on my nails for about 4-5 days before everything starts to look a bit tired and I decide I’m ready for something different to adorn my nails. This is a pretty good result considering a lot of nail polishes only last 3-4 days.
What they say:
Hello Darling nail art decals – or Art Class as we Darlings lovingly refer to them – allow anyone who can use a pair of scissors to create amazing, detailed and individualised nail art without ever picking up a brush. Non-toxic and gelatine-free, these exclusive decals are made with a starch-based, water activated adhesive that binds to Hello Darling nail lacquers to create incredible patterns and frescos from the Art Class design collection.
The decals are a little bit fiddily to get the hang of at first but once you’ve had a bit of practice you’ll be laughing. They are a great way to add a bit of nail art to your nails without the finesse needed to use a brush. Hello Darling provides a very generous number of decals on the sheet, so there is no need to worry about running out if you make a mistake. The decals are also really detailed, so they look fantastic on the nail. I’m definitely a fan, and I get comments and questions about my nails every time I go out with them on.
