Geisha Girl – May 2011 FOTD Challenge Day 4

My plan with this challenge was to do 2 FOTD’s at every opportunity, and create a backlog of posts, thus creating less work for myself. This hasn’t happened (yet – I swear to god I am going to do it) so I have been flying by the seat of my pants in getting these posts up. That explains why this FOTD is going up so late in the day.

Somehow, I lost my mojo for this look today. I had grand plans for a lovely wearable and intricate take on the geisha look, but by the time I got home I had no creativity and no patience so I decided to go for the predictable and obvious interpretation of a Kabuki mask. Halfway through doing this, the electrician for my building rang the buzzer, woke up the baby, and I had half a face of makeup on. It was truly a comedy of errors.

I don’t love it. But I am determined to post something for every weekday this month.¬†Without further ado, here is the FOTD for today.

Geisha 1

Should you wish to try and recreate this look, the products I used are:

  • Face of Australia primer
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
  • Revlon Photo Ready foundation in Vanilla
  • Sugarpill pressed eyeshadow in Tako
  • Sugarpill pressed eyeshadow in Dollypop
  • Sugarpill pressed eyeshadow in Love +
  • Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero
  • Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara
  • A random red lip pencil I had lying around.

I promise tomorrow I will get my mojo back, and hopefully put up something a little more interesting and inspiring!

Do you ever play with makeup just for the hell of it? What would you do if a tradie turned up at your house while you looked like this?

All products used were purchased by me. I have no affiliation with any companies mentioned, and have not been remunerated for this post. All opinions are my own.
