Although we have been unable to locate any information online about Savvy by DB and their products, this foundation is marketed as a Flawless Finish Foundation. Let’s put that to the test.
The foundations in this range have great pigmentation. I originally bought this as a cheapie foundation so I could use it on a model for my folio (because I haven’t yet built up my pro makeup kit). I didn’t need it to be long wearing, all I needed was a foundation that would photograph satisfactorily. I was so surprised at the lovely finish it gave that I used it again on my model for an evening out. I have since purchased the foundation in my own shade.
Here it is on me:
Ease of application:
On both my model and myself, this foundation applies effortlessly. I use a paddle brush to lay the product down, and then I like to buff it in with a flat top kabuki brush.
I always wear a primer under foundation, which may skew the results in a longevity test of foundation. Having said that, this foundation has lasted exceptionally well over the course of an evening, even into the wee small hours.
This foundation is packaged in an airtight pump tube, making it both hygienic and easy to dispense the correct amount.
Although functional, the packaging on this foundation does look a little cheap – the label is loose and badly aligned, and the shade name is stuck on like an afterthought, with no real regard for the classiness of the appearance.
Anything else worth mentioning?:
I’ve had no problem matching these foundations to myself and my models. Having said this, the shade range is limited and there might not be a perfect shade for everyone.
If you are on a tight budget, in my opinion you can’t go past this foundation. Having said that, there are 3 things I choose to spend money on – expensive coffee, expensive toilet paper and expensive foundation.
