MUA or Makeup Academy is a UK drug store brand. They specialise in fun, quality products that don’t break the bank.
If you like bright, vibrant, bold products with excellent colour pay off, you’ll want to try these. Although this article is about the shadows, MUA have a whole range of products that are surprisingly good quality.
These shadows are extraordinarily cheap, so I was not expecting great quality shadows. I was pleasantly surprised. I found them to be smooth in texture, easily blended and highly pigmented. Unlike some other brands this quality is consistent across the entire colour range.
I am currently in the process of moving, and do not have internet connected at my home – I’ll be updating this article with swatches when I have internet access up and running.
Ease of application:
These shadows apply smoothly and blend easily.
I always wear a primer under my eyeshadows, so I can only speak to their performance over primer. I easily get more than 8 hrs of wear out of these shadows.
MUA palettes come presented in black plastic packaging with a clear lid for easy colour selection.
Although these palettes fit nicely into my collection, they aren’t makeup bag or hand bag proof. They feel too flimsy to live up to any sort of rough treatment. The individual shadows feel a little sturdier, although this could be because they are smaller.
Anything else worth mentioning?:
MUA is a UK based brand, so can be a little tricky to get your hands on elsewhere in the world. Having said this, they offer international shipping from their website, and they charge a very reasonable 8GBP flat rate for shipping to Australia.
What they say:
Great makeup doesn’t need to cost the earth and it is MUA’s promise to bring surprising quality, colour, fun and innovation to each and every product it delivers. Bringing guilt free makeup to every ladies makeup bag!
These eyeshadow palettes are a great product, at a very reasonable price. I have several and I love them.
These shadows can be purchased online at the MUA website.
