Brand Showcase – Essence Cosmetics

Usually for Frugal Friday I bring you a specific product. This week, however, is different. I want to showcase an ENTIRE brand, and that brand is Essence Cosmetics.

Essence is a European brand that hit Australian shores earlier this year. It is stocked by Target, and as well as a permanent range, they offer cute and bubbly limited edition collections. For a number of reasons Essence is fast becoming one of my favourite budget brands.

In terms of the rules of this challenge, I can showcase Essence Cosmetics as a brand, because I am (almost completely) confident that nothing is over $10. Most of the shadows and nail polishes come in at around $4.00-$6.00, and I have seen Essence products as low as $2.

I’ve listed what I regards as some of their stand-out products below:

Eye Shadows

These are available in a wide range of colours, with a number of different finishes Рholographic, shimmer, pearl and matte are a few I can name off the top of my head.  For these regular eye shadows, the price range is between $2.00 and $5.00.

Long-lasting Eye Shadow

Essence Cosmetics Long-lasting Eye Shadow is a cream to powder product. It claims to last all day with no primer and no creasing, and in my experience it does exactly that. These little pots of goodness are priced at around $6.00

This highlighter is, in my opinion, a brilliant product. I find it to be particularly good for the inner corner of my eyes, and it makes me look perky, bright-eyed and fresh. The Essence highlighter is around $6.00.

Essence as a brand has completely exceeded my expectations, particularly when you consider the very affordable price-point. Some products that truly do deserve an Honorable Mention are the Gel Eyeliners and the Mood Changing Lip Glosses. The brushes are also respectable for the very low price-tag, with my recommendation being the angled eyeliner brush.

Essence Cosmetics are stocked in Australia exclusively at Target. If you have a few dollars to spare I definitely suggest checking out this range.

Have you tried Essence Cosmetics? What is your favourite product from the range? Let me know in the comments below.
