This is a liquid foundation designed to dry to a matte but not flat finish, moisturise the skin and last all day, while also providing an SPF of 15.
This is the “Natural Ivory” shade. It’s a close match to my skin tone, but not exact. I don’t mind, though, because you can’t really tell all that much unless you get right up close – not something that happens with total strangers or work colleagues day-to-day. I hope.
This foundation provides a great level of everyday coverage for me – it’s not so heavy that you can’t see my dark circles or fading pimples on my chin at all, but it’s still enough coverage to drastically reduce the two while evening out my skin tone beautifully.
It’s nice and lightweight, but I can still feel it there. In a good way. Like moisturiser.
Foundation in more direct sunlight
Foundation in semi-natural light (in atrium but in front of artificial light source)
Me smiling because this foundation evens my skin tone and I like that!
Ease of application:
Application with this is a breeze.
First I use the Face of Australia Face Base Primer 3-in-1 on my face, neck and décolletage (this is so much more fun to say than “chest”), then I just squeeze some foundation out of the tube and apply with hands/fingers on the same areas.
I follow with powder (Face of Australia Pressed Powder in “Ivory”) and all done! My morning makeup now takes less than 10 mins!
NOTE: if you do not suffer from an oily T-Zone like I do, powder may not be necessary – this foundation is actually fine without it because it already has a lovely finish. Maybe use a setting spray instead, just to lock it in.
This is impressively long-lasting. It lasts a good 12 hour work day with me (leave the house just before 7am, arrive home between 6:30 and 7pm).
The powder has to come out for touch-ups around midday and then again before I leave work, but that’s not a problem for me.
This comes in a tube with a flip-top lid, so it’s nice and hygienic to use. The lid is handbag-safe.
The other feature I like is that there is a clear section around the bottom of the tube so that the exact shade of the foundation can be easily seen from the outside of the bottle, and this also makes it easy to see when you’re getting low on product so you can plan to replace it before it runs out.
I have zero objections to this packaging – simple and functional.
Anything else worth mentioning?:
I really love the added moisturiser and SPF 15 in this – they’re so important in winter, especially as I’m definitely not paying attention to my levels of sun exposure as much as when it’s summer and winter can be so drying for the skin.
