Clowning Around – A Halloween Makeover

Clown Makeup 1

In terms of Blogging, we’re heading into my favourite time of year… It’s October, and that means Halloween! A completely legitimate reason to do crazy person makeup!

For this years first Halloween inspired look, I decided to do a Clown.

I didn’t go for “horror” clown, because I wanted this to be a look that would entertain and delight small children, while still scaring that pants off anyone with a clown phobia.

Products Used:

Clown Makeup Face Products

I started off with the Cover FX SPF 30 Protection Primer*, then used a Beauty Pod to apply Cover FX Total Cover Creme Foundation* in a shade a few shades lighter than my skin tone. I then used Cover FX Blotting Powder in Medium* to contour and add a little depth to my face. I finished my base by using Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Nymph, blending it (quite heavy-handed) from the apples of my cheeks, all the way up onto my temples and browbones.

Clown Makeup Eye Products

I primed my eyelids from lashline to browbone with LimeCrime Eyeshadow Helper, then packed Sugarpill Tako on the inner half of my eyelid, Sugarpill Acidberry on the outer half of my eyelid, and worked Sugarpill Mochi into the crease. I made a liquid liner out of Naked Cosmetics Ivory Pigment #3 and Illamasqua Mixing Medium, and applied an oversize wing to each eye. I used Mirenesse Inside Out 27Hr Eye Kohl in Hathor* on my lower lashline, and down onto my cheeks, using a pencil brush to blend it all out and soften any harsh lines. I used Lancome Doll Eyes mascara, and applied some el-cheapo false lashes that I picked up at Priceline.

I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Strawberry Milk to create a sticky base on my eyebrows, then defined them by filling them in with Sugarpill Dollipop.

Clown Makeup Lip Products

I drew the shape I wanted for my lips using Face of Australia Mechanical Lipliner in Pink*, then filled it in with OCC Lip Tar in Anime. I added a little shading using OCC Lip Tar in Katricia.

So… where do you land on the topic of Clowns? Love them? Hate them? Terrified of them? Let me know in the comments!
