Clarisonic Mia

Clarisonic Mia

This pretty little Clarisonic Mia was sent to me a few months ago for editorial consideration, and I’ll be honest, I was dubious at first. I have problematic skin that is dry, sensitive and prone to redness. I’ve had problems in the past with physical exfoliants, and the idea of scrubbing my face with a brush, no matter how gentle, simply made me cringe. The only reason I was open to trying the Clarisonic is because Lara at swatchgirl.com is a huge advocate, and she has very similar skin to me.

Well I’ve had to eat my words, because I’ve been using this for roughly 6 months, and my skin has never been better. There are a few caveats on that statement though. I do NOT use this the recommended morning and night. I tried it, and found my skin became highly sensitised, with a noticeable increase in redness. I also do not use the Clarisonic cleanser, as it felt like it was stripping my skin, and it stings like a mofo when it gets into my eyes.

I typically use my Clarisonic every 3rd day, or anytime I want to make sure my skin is perfectly smooth for a full makeup application. I use it with my beloved Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel and it works like a dream.

After using my Clarisonic, I apply a rich serum, followed by an intensely hydrating moisturiser, and I find my makeup has never looked better on my skin.

Have you tried the Clarisonic? Did you love it or hate it? Let me know in the comments.
