A Rainbow Inspired Makeover

Rainbow Lashes 1

This weekend, my daughter was invited to a rainbow themed birthday party, and being the lover of theatrics that I am, I decided to get into the party spirit.

It just so happened that I had a pair of phenomenally amazing rainbow lashes in my stash that I had not yet had the opportunity to wear. These are not the most comfortable lashes I have worn (they’re SO heavy), but they are worth wearing for the show-stopping impact alone.

These lashes were a great talking-point… although, if I’m being honest, most of my friends don’t even bat an eyelid when I decide to go “outside the box” with my makeup.

I applied my base makeup, then used a NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk (white) to coat my brows, creating a sticky base for the coloured shadows to adhere to. I used a combination of shadows from the LimeCrime Aquataenia Palette and Palette D’Antoinette to create a rainbow gradient that tied in with the colours in my lashes. I finished my brows by outlining them with a small amount of liquid concealer on a small, stiff angled brush.

After finishing my brows, I applied the lashes.

I used Face of Australia Terra blush to contour my cheeks, and Face of Australia Hello Dolly blush on the apples of my cheeks.

I thought I had finished the look when I applied a slick of Face of Australia Peaches & Cream lipstick, but it still needed a little “sumthin’ sumthin”, so I added a drizzle of Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Stranger to my lower lip, and I was done!
